When Signals set out to create Leaf A Legacy, we wanted to celebrate our 25 years of success in business by giving back to the community. So we looked for a new and compelling way to engage people in supporting the work of the BC Cancer Agency.
And the magical tree created by illustrator John Belisle and the Signals interactive team has succeeded on many levels. Leaf A Legacy attracted national attention in a full-page ad sponsored by The Globe and Mail and was featured on a local CBC news program. The site was also awarded honourable mention in the 2009 Design Exchange Awards.
Most importantly, the Leaf A Legacy site has succeeded in “giving back” and in giving people a place to tell their personal stories about the struggle against cancer. Through donations large and small alike we’re proud that almost $12,000 has been directly donated to innovative cancer research.
