To encourage young adults to start thinking about their financial future, the Money Wizard Facebook application was developed for the Credit Unions of BC. Engaging branded content such as an interactive quiz and question-and-answer web videos featuring a quirky ‘Money Wizard’ were created to offer financial information and advice in a fun and entertaining manner.
Young adults could take the “Money Master or Cash Disaster” interactive quiz to find out how their money managing skills stacked up. The quiz put an entertaining spin on otherwise boring financial questions, and results were revealed in a web video featuring the Money Wizard. Depending on how users answered, they were sorted into one of five categories (ex. “Masta Planna”, “Debt Magnet”) and received financial advice from the Money Wizard specific to their situation.
Users were also given the opportunity to submit their cash questions to the Money Wizard who responded with financial advice in a weekly web video.
